Mark Vincent Haas' Obituary
Mark Vincent Haas, 79, of Delran, NJ, passed away after a brief illness on June 20, 2026.
Born on August 12, 1946 to the late John and Rita (nee Carroll) Haas, Mark was husband of 59 years to his one true love Janice (nee Duff). Devoted father to Kimberley Ann Haas, Mark Thomas Haas (Alana), and Michael Vincent Haas (Heather). Proud and adoring Pop Pop to Olive Ann and Olina Jane. Dear brother to John Haas (Marge) and the late Robert Haas (Beth) and Joanne Bowman (nee Haas) (Glenn) and brother in law to Michael Duff (Diane) and Kelley Altieri (nee Duff) (Dohald). He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and all who knew him.
Mark enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was trained to repair F-4 fighter jets and his new skill took him and his beloved bride to Luke AFB in Arizonia and Aviano AFB in Italy. His time in the Air Force created a lifelong fan of aviation and he possessed the unique ability to identify military aircraft simply by the sound of it's engine.
After his service to his country, Mark worked at US Steel in Fairless Hills, PA, Campbells Soup in Camden, NJ, and, finally, as a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 68 at Taj Mahal Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ where he was employed from it's inception until his retirement.
Having satisfied his desire for jet setting while in the Air Force, Mark happily vacationed with his family in Ocean City, NJ each year. He could be found enjoying his favorite OCNJ activities like diving into a Kohr Bros ice cream on the boardwalk, relaxing on the porch of the rental home, or patiently waiting for his wife and kids outside any number of shops or arcades.
A true Philadelphia sports fan, Mark instilled in his children the importance of rooting for the home team through his love of the Eagles and the Phillies. Even as adults, his kids could expect frequent texts or calls during games to alert them of a great play, strike out, or when a favorite player was to be interviewed in the post-game shows.
Mark was happiest when surrounded by those he loved and protected. Above all, Mark was a loyal family man whose greatest joy was the, smiles on the faces of those he adored.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mark's name may be made to Disabled Veterans National Foundation PO Box 2005, Milford, NH 03055-2005
