Mark J Shaffer's Obituary
Mark J Shaffer, 61, Of Marlton, NJ.
With a smile on his face and the satisfaction of knowing the legacy he wished to leave behind had been fulfilled, Mark quietly slipped away March 6, 2025.
Born March 29, 1963, to William and Jean Shaffer (Forsyth). He was raised in Cinnaminson, NJ, where he formed unbreakable bonds with a fun-loving group of kids who became life long friends.
He had been employed by Domino Amjet for nearly 25 years, most recently as Director of National and Strategic Accounts. He loved his job, the people he worked with, his customers, and all the relationships he formed along the way - true friendships.
He shared his knowledge, advice and encouragement freely. He saw the potential in everyone, even when they didn’t yet see it in themselves. A true mentor to family, friends, and colleagues, nothing pleased him more than to see others succeed.
He considered his home his sanctuary. It was a state of mind. A place to let go of the troubles of the day, kick off his shoes, light a fire, sit on the dock, grab a beer, listen to his music and just be. He believed in keeping life simple, family first and everything else would follow.
He was adored by his wife and daughters. He was the fun in “Shaffer Family Fun”. He would don his $5 khaki blazer, purchased from the clearance rack, and become his alter ego, Kevin the Explorer! It was always an adventure when Kevin appeared and his family gladly followed; a trip to Krispy Kreme, a stroll on the boardwalk, a ride on a roller coaster, a flight to Florida to catch a Tom Jones concert. The destination didn’t matter, it was all about the joy found along the way!
He will be sorely missed by his wife of 38 years, Dara Fitzpatrick, and his loving daughters, Casey and Valerie Shaffer. Also survived by his brothers, Bill, Bruce, and Scott Shaffer, his sisters/brothers in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held Friday evening, March 28th at the Kings Grant Community Center, 50 Landings Drive, Marlton, NJ beginning at 6pm.
