Martha J. Lion's Obituary
Martha Jayne Maher Lion “Marty” passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at The Pines in Voorhees, NJ. Born and raised in Uniontown, PA to Dr. Regis M. and Florie L. Maher, Marty was 77 years old. She was a resident of Mt. Ephraim, NJ for over 50 years.
Wife of the late Walter A. Lion, III. Loving mother of Walter A. (Michelle) Lion, IV and Scott A. (Donna) Lion. Cherished Grandmother to Scott, Patrick, Bethany and Walter. Great Grandmother of Alice and Jack. Sister of Maryann Kocan, Ginny Rach and Barbara Newell and the late Regis C. Maher. Also surviving are seven Nieces, six Nephews and twenty-six Great Nieces and Nephews all of whom loved her dearly. John Wenner who was a trusted and loyal friend for over 50 years.
Marty was a retired computer operator for the US Food Service where she was a valued employee for over 42 years.
Marty enjoyed all things “Pittsburgh”, especially Steelers football. She also enjoyed Facebook and Games, especially “Dice with Buddies”. Marty really enjoyed following her Great Nieces and Nephews in all of their various sports. Phily Diner & Sports Bar was her all-time favorite restaurant.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, June 22nd, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. Marty’s memorial service will follow at 1 p.m.
