Martin "Marty" Downs' Obituary
Martin “Marty” Downs, affectionately known as the “Doctor of Homes” to his family and friends, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2021. Marty was born in Philadelphia, PA and currently resided in Cinnaminson, NJ. He was 70 years old.
Marty was the beloved husband of Deborah Downs (nee Mutone) for 35 years. He was the cherished father of Shannon Downs and Amanda Downs (fiancé Christopher Chismar). Dear youngest brother of Patricia O’Neill (Peter), Joseph Downs (Joan), James Downs (Connie), and John Downs (Beverley). Marty is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family members and friends who will miss him and his sense of humor tremendously.
Marty loved going out to eat, making friends with just about anyone, and bringing smiles to everyone’s face no matter what it took. He was known for his charismatic energy, fun-loving attitude, and kind and compassionate spirit. He truly was a “happy man.”
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, on Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm. A funeral Mass will take place on Thursday morning at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, followed by interment in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. Masks, social distancing, and crowd restrictions will be strictly followed at the funeral home, church, and cemetery.
Marty's funeral Mass will be livestreamed from this tribute page on February 4, at 10:30 am. Should there be any technical difficulties, a recording of the Mass will also be uploaded to this tribute page afterwards.
