Mary Acconey's Obituary
Mary Acconey (nee Mannino), affectionately known as “Grammy” to her grandchildren, died peacefully in her home in Medford, New Jersey on Monday, March 13, 2017, at the age of 86.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Frank Acconey and the devoted mother of Jack Acconey and Karen Schweighofer. She is the treasured Grandmother of Christopher & Jenna Acconey and Kerri, Kayla, Kandace, & Ryan Schweighofer, as well as the Great-Grandmother of Lily & Wesley Acconey.
Mary was born, to Angelo and Mary Mannino, on August 29, 1930 in Sicklerville, NJ and was loved by her many siblings: Sonny, Gene, & Joe Mannino and Marilyn Leon. Mary was dear to many, including Carol Acconey, Emmi Acconey, Al & Sara Giansanti, Katie Kelly, Deanna Marlin, and the Nguyen Family.
Friends and family remember Mary as a charismatic, candid, and fun-loving woman; who cherished her role as a homemaker and relished her time with her family. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed playing the piano, watching Oprah, and reading the Tabloids.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary’s life celebration gathering at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main St. on Saturday, March 18th at 10 am. Eulogies will begin at 11:30 am followed by her service at Calvary Mausoleum, Cherry Hill, NJ.
The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to Ngan Nguyen, devoted caretaker, for all her love, support, and dedication to Mary and her late husband, Frank. Special thanks to her daughter, son, and husband for their commitment to our family’s care.
