Mary Alice Jones' Obituary
Mary Alice Jones (nee Woods), of Woodstown, formerly of Woolwich Township and Delran, passed away on February 1, 2017. She was 81 years old.
Mary Alice was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was a 1953 graduate of John W. Hallahan High School. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at the Archdiocese of Philadelphia until she married. She was a homemaker for many years while she raised her daughters, and later on she worked as a receptionist at a medical office. After her retirement, Mary Alice volunteered at St. Casimir's parish in Riverside where she worked in the rectory and also enjoyed her role as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a faithful Catholic throughout her life. Mary Alice fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, but despite enduring all that the disease entailed, she was still able to share a smile and laugh at times. She was always a gracious woman and thankfully, the disease was not able to steal her gentle spirit and kind ways.
Mary Alice was the beloved wife of 43 years of the late John J. Jones. Loving and cherished Mother of Suzanne M. Reitz (Hugh), Alicia A. Cooley (Dale), and Melissa K. Martin (Ed). Devoted and proud Nana of Jacob, Kayla, Daniel, Ryan, Megan, Sarah, and Julianna. Loving sister of Jack Woods (Penny), Tom Woods (the late Ellen), and Margaret Terry (the late Phil). Predeceased by her brother, James Woods, and her sister, Carol Simpson (the late Joe).
