Mary Ann Figura's Obituary
Mary Ann Figura, 78, of Cinnaminson passed away peacefully on October 24, 2022. Mary Ann was born in Philadelphia on November 2, 1943 to John and Anna Ponczka. After graduating from Little Flower High School, Mary Ann earned her bachelors degree from Saint Joseph's University and her masters degree from Chestnut Hill College. She started her career in education at the young age of 17 at Saint Adalbert Elementary School in Philadelphia. She went on to teach second grade at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Maple Shade. After 15 years as a classroom teacher, Mary Ann took the helm as principal, which she held for 16 years before retirement. Mary Ann's pride was in her school and her students and she shared her passion for learning with thousands of children over the years. Following her retirement from OLPH, Mary Ann continued her service to Christ by continuously participating in many of
the ministries at Saint Charles Borromeo Parish. She was an Associate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. She was warmhearted and devoted to her family. Her greatest joy was spending time at the beach with family, especially her grandchildren. Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Michael, children Michael (Andrea), Michele (David) Mariano, Mary Anne (John) Napoli and grandchildren Michael, Lauren, Nina, Andrew, Philip and Anna, as well as by her brother John (Susan) Ponczka.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 Noreth.
Mary Ann’s Funeral Mass will follow 11 a.m. at Saint Charles Borromeo Church Branch Pike and Pomona Road Cinnaminson.
Entombment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Charles Borromeo Church.
