Mary Louise Batchelor's Obituary
Mary Louise Batchelor (nee McFillin). “Mary Lou,” 77 years old, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024, with her family by her side. Mary Lou was born in Abington, PA to Edward and Edna McFillin. She was the beloved widow of the late William R. Batchelor and the loving mother of Susan Marie (John M. Kay, III) Kay, Karey Ann (Robert W. Nece, Jr.) Sigmund-Nece and the late Robert Henry Timmons, Jr. Mary Lou is survived by her 3 sisters, Margaret Carugno, Edna Graver and Madeleine (Karl) Forssell. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, to whom she was lovingly called “Mom Mom.”
Mary Lou was raised in Delanco, NJ and was a graduate of Riverside High School. She raised her children in Cinnaminson, NJ before settling down in Palmyra, NJ with her late husband William. Mary Lou was employed as an insurance adjuster for Barclay Insurance Company and AAA Insurance Company. She also worked for many years at Sears Company where she met her late husband, William. She enjoyed traveling to Cape May, NJ, going to church, Sunday brunch at local diners, playing the game of Scrabble and spending time with her family and loved ones. Mary Lou will always be remembered for her kindness and wanting to please others. She was a very special “Mom Mom” and will truly be missed.
A gathering of family and friends will be held this Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Givnish of Maple Shade 600 East Main Street. Mary Lou’s Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospice in South Jersey
