Mary A. Conroy's Obituary
Mary Conroy passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on August 14th after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was 73 years old and a longtime resident of both Delran, NJ and Sea Isle City, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mary was the daughter of Edward and Irene Klitsch and the sister of Irene Gross (William) and Edward Klitsch (Libby). She was a graduate of Hallahan Catholic High School.
Mary was married to Joseph Conroy for 51 years and was the mother of one son, Joseph and three daughters, Beth Barbagiovanni (Steven), Michelle Cherny (Bryan) and Kathleen Cox (Daniel). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Sara, Steven, Brooke and Brenna Barbagiovanni; Chase, Paige, Ryder and Austin Cherny; Scarlett and Lyla Hofstra and Trevor Cox.
Mary was a devoted stay at home Mom until the children entered their teenage years when she worked at several medical and dental offices. In her later years she enjoyed traveling throughout the USA and visiting many countries in Europe and Asia. After retirement, Mary spent a portion of each winter in Florida and most of the summer months in Sea Isle City, NJ, her favorite spot since childhood.
A funeral mass will be celebrated for Mary on Thursday, August 22nd at 11am at Resurrection Parish, Church of the Holy Name 260 Conrow Rd., Delran, NJ. The viewing will be held at 9:30am until mass begins. Interment immediately following at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate mass cards in memory of Mary.
