Mary A. Hodum's Obituary
Mary A. Hodum passed away peacefully Sunday, July 30, in Bar Harbor, Maine. Mary was born on October 16, 1923 in Kearny, NJ. She lived for many years in Iselin, NJ, and retired over 30 years ago to Toms River, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank L. Hodum in 1995.
Throughout Mary’s life she enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey Shore, winters and golfing in Florida, playing Mah Jong with her many lady friends, and always laughing and living life to the fullest.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her later years, her family was the focus of her life and oh, how she looked forward to those Christmas Brunches.
Mary is survived by her son, Frank J. “Rusty” (Marion) of Delran, NJ, Eileen Wignall (Kevin) of Mt. Desert, Maine, and Andrea Palevo (Phil) of Leland, NC.
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Frank J. Hodum (Angela), John Hodum, Eric Wignall, Devon Wignall, Sean Wignall (Patricia), Daniel Palevo, Cheryl Randall (Skye); and great-grandchildren: Alyssa, James, Nathan, and Wyatt.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, NJ on Saturday, October 14, at 10:30 a.m.
Private interment will be at BG William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery Arneytown, North Hanover Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association at donatenow.heart.org.
