Dearest Mom (and family and friends),
I am excited to share with you that the Hope, Love, Courage Foundation has been created!
The Hope, Love, Courage Foundation was inspired by Mary-Joan Wall, with a single goal: "personify HOPE, LOVE, and COURAGE to effectively protect at-risk children and youths, to advocate for their needs, and to empower them to create their own bright future, do good work, and make a positive impact on the world." With this in mind, the Hope, Love, Courage Foundation champions initiatives that provide children and youths with: nurturing love and early educational needs; resources for both healing from and prevention of child abuse; extracurricular arts and sports programs; and academic scholarships.
The HLC Foundation is currently going through the legal incorporation process which will take a few weeks. In the meantime, we have a placeholder website at https://hopelovecourage.com/
To family and friends, please do NOT attempt to make any donations yet as we cannot open a bank account until the foundation has been officially incorporated. Plus I would like to share our specific initiatives first before any contributions are made.

Yesterday was a beautiful day. It seemed to me the sun was shining brighter than normal. I feel you with me mom, everywhere I go, in my heart and in my mind. Through me you saw how much your friends love you and miss you. And today you could see, through my sad eyes, that there is still breathtaking beauty in the world. If you can stay with me just a little while longer, dearest mom, we will see more of of the world’s beauty that will take our breath away. Stay with me, dearest mom, just a little while longer. Please.
Dear Mrs. Wall,
it is difficult to mention a specific moment from our shared experiences thats standsout on top, because spending time with you was always a pleasure. Thanks to Jessie I am very lucky that I meet you and also Adrian. I will always remember your senses of humor, your quick wittedness, worldly outlook, your curiosity, your positive and optimistic outlook for the future... there are just too many things to put, which is only fitting.
You will always be with us. And there will be a smile and a true heart with us. Thank you, for all moments we spend together. They are very precious. You will always be there and we will share all the future events/points/stories that for sure you would be interested in.
This is not good-bye.

The Wasiluk family extends our sincerest love and condolences to the Walls. Jackie, Riley, Lily, and Mike are here for you always.
We're so happy that Mom got to meet Riley and Lily and share videos of the kids playing and talking with her in English and Mandarin. She was so genuinely excited to meet Riley and Lily and very excited that they were both learning Mandarin. It was truly a special moment for all of us when she gave them both Hongbao for CNY. She was so happy to give them their gifts. Her face was filled with joy to have two "grandchildren" around to shower with gifts. Lily didn't put her stuffed monkey down the entire trip.
Riley and Lily love and miss their Chinese nainai. We're very blessed to have had her in our lives.
Adrian has been a brother to me since the start of 7th grade. We were both somewhat awkward kids trying to navigate adolescence as we grew into men. Joan was my 2nd mother and always welcomed me into the Wall home and treated me like a son.
She was supportive of whatever weird thing Adrian and I got into. Whether it was hours long sessions of Spit or Magic, epic ping pong battles, or creating silly talk show video projects for school, Mom was there to support our creativity and passions -- and let us raid the refrigerator (it was always stocked for us for when we came home from school).
Personally, she opened my eyes to culture and worldliness that I hadn't experienced elsewhere at the time. I remember one specific memory, where we went to an authentic Chinese restaurant. I rarely went out to dinner as it was, and my family almost never went anywhere fancy. This restaurant was one where there was a special "back room" for the locals, with a completely different menu than what the lay person saw. I was informed to "dress nicely", which for me, meant a dress shirt and decent shoes. This room had a round table with a large Lazy Susan in the center. When we arrived, there were maybe 6 or 7 other people there waiting to be seated with us. Joan just told me to wait for a moment while everyone got acquainted, and let the elders sit first. Once we all sat down, food was brought out onto the Lazy Susan one dish after another. When I went to grab the serving spoon, Mom slapped my hand back. She told me, you and Adrian are the youngest. "You must wait until the elders got their food first." I'll never forget that moment -- the sternness of it, combined with loving kindness of it -- where she was genuinely trying to teach me an elevated level of culture and respect.
About a month ago, I relayed this story to Adrian and Mom, and, she said "See, it worked! :)"
Miss you Mom. Thanks for giving me the best gift anyone could ask for -- another Brother.

Hi mom, dad and I are missing you so much. We are thinking of and so thankful for you. We made all your favorites - roast turkey (leg & thigh for you), your homemade stuffing, bourbon vanilla cranberry sauce, bacon brussel sprouts, rutabaga mash, cole slaw, and kugelis potato pudding with sour cream.
