Mary Lou Yelland's Obituary
Mary Lou Yelland passed away on Tuesday May 7, 2019, at the age of "29-plus".
Mary Lou was born in Connecticut, the youngest daughter of Henry and Madeline (Kohler) Colosey. She moved to the Philadelphia area at a young age and lived there for the remainder of her life.
Mary Lou had a big heart and a great love for animals, including all of her many dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. Spending time with her animals brought her great joy, especially her time as an equestrian rider. She loved going to the Columbus Flea Market every Thursday with her mother and dogs. She had a passion for flowers and plants, which she raised in her greenhouse. Mary Lou had a fabulous personality that will not be forgotten by those who knew her. She liked her hair and makeup done at all times. She liked to drive fast. She could pan-sear a steak like nobody else.
Mary Lou was a loving and devoted wife to her husband and "King" of 40 years, the late George James Yelland, Jr. She was also predeceased by her stepson, George James Yelland, III, and sister Ruth Nixon. She is survived by her son David Weed (Cathy), stepdaughter Jackie Norris (Larry), and grandchildren Jenna, David, and Jonathan Weed, who affectionately remember her as "Loulie".
Mary Lou will be entombed at Lakeview Memorial Park, and her services will be held privately by her family. To share your fondest memories please click on our “Tribute Wall” tab.
