Mary "Sandy" F. McKenna's Obituary
Mary "Sandy" McKenna, 83, of Moorestown, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on July 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Catherine (Brennan) Fraser.
Sandy was the beloved wife of Robert Bromirski and was previously married to the late Daniel J. McKenna. She was a devoted stepmother to Daniel McKenna, Jean M. Hopely, Elaine Herb, Jennifer Burd, and Staci Spannuth, and a cherished step-grandmother to Brenna, Luke, and Marren. She was also the dear sister of James Fraser (the late Beatrice), sister in law to Julia Fraser, God mother to Maggie, Sandy, and aunt to Shaughnessy, and was preceded in death by her brother Donald Fraser.
A passionate traveler, Sandy explored the world extensively, visiting every U.S. national park and experiencing nearly every cruise line. Some of her favorite destinations included Scotland, England, and the Mediterranean. She had a deep appreciation for her heritage, taking great interest in both her Native American roots and the folklore surrounding them, as well as her Irish and Scottish ancestry.
Sandy had an incredible gift for connecting with people—she could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them captivated by her life stories. Her warmth and charisma earned her the title of Employee of the Year during her time working for the City of Philadelphia.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, March 12, at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM. Entombment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
