Mary E. Wesley's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Bone’y -Wesley, 83, was born on August 14, 1936 to William Edward Bone’y and Lillie Mae Bone’y in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Mary was the youngster of Five Sisters and Brothers born to Lillie Mae, and the youngest of six half Sisters and brothers from her father William Edward Bone’y who was Widowed with six children before his Blessed Union with Lillie Mae, making Mary Elizabeth the youngest of 12. Mary always spoke of being spoiled by her older siblings who were much older when she was born and was given the nickname “little bits.”
Mary left school early to care for her first child Issac, but later returned back to school where she acquired her GED from the Philadelphia Board of Education passing at the head of her class, also attended school where she received her certification as a Medical Psychiatrist Nursing Assistant for which she took great pride. She went on to work at several Nursing Homes within the Philadelphia area before moving to Coatesville, PA where she was hired and worked at the VA Hospital of Coatesville for many, many years before retiring early due to illness, but later returned where she finished out her career at the VA Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. for an additional 5 years before succumbing to illness and permanently retiring from her greatest passion of nursing and being in service caring for others in need.
Mary Elizabeth became a resident of Hinesville, GA for the past two years, where she lived with her daughter Naomi, after being on dialysis for 12 years, Mary yielded to the call of Christ and transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 04:18 AM, surrounded by family. Mary was a strong woman of faith in Jesus Christ whom she relied on daily throughout her life. She was a resident of Willingboro, Nj 15 years before moving to Georgia where she acquired many friends and church family at Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Edgewater Park, NJ, where she was a member for ten years before becoming a member of Living Faith Christian Center in Tycony, NJ on Route 73 were she continued to call her Church home and Family even after moving to Hinesville Georgia.
Mary was the matriarch of five generations, a loving Mother and Mother In-law to her late Son Issac Bone’y and Thomas Santiago who both preceded her in death. Mary loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren very much, she was fondly known as Mom and GG. Mary leaves behind to mourn her passing her daughter Naomi Bone’y Santiago, her grandchildren Sheila and Terence Huggins, Leonard Bone’y, who she fondly called (Len), Lynell Sanders, fondly called (Nell) and Issac Junior, 26 Great-grandchildren and 16 Great-great-grandchildren. Mary also leaves behind to moan her passing her two Sisters Verde Hill, and Peachier, a host of Nieces, Nephew, Cousins, her Church family from living Faith Christian Center, and Friends from Willingboro Senior Center. Mary will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, January 31st at Givnish of Cinnaminson, Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. Services will begin with a viewing, 11:00am – 12:00pm, with a service to follow from 12:00pm – 1:00pm.
