Matthew J. Kravil Jr's Obituary
Matthew Joseph Kravil, Jr., born on January 8, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, in Manahawkin, NJ. He was the beloved son of the late Matthew Joseph and Jennie Elizabeth (Shapley) Kravil, Sr.
Matthew graduated from Frankford High School and went on to build a successful career marked by dedication and hard work. He was one of many dancers on American Bandstand in Philadelphia. He began his professional journey at A&P on Castor and Wingohocking and the original ShopRite in Cinnaminson. He later worked alongside his father at CSS International in Philadelphia before joining Best Foods Baking Group in Marlton. There, he advanced from a route owner to Regional District Sales Manager, a role he held for many years before retiring.
Matthew was a devoted husband to his wife of 56 years, Margaret Ann (Goetz), and a loving father to his three children: Matthew Joseph Kravil, III (Stephanie), Charles Matthew Kravil (Katherine), and Jennie Elizabeth Kravil. He cherished his seven grandchildren—Kelsea, Alexandra, Rebecca, Leah, Macy, Ian, and Logan—and took great joy in his three great-grandchildren: Elle, Emma, and Evie. He will be missed by his brothers-in-law Charles William Goetz (JoAnne) and William Charles Goetz (Carole), as well as his nieces Tammy and Katie and his great nephew Bridger.
Known for his immense heart and unwavering love for his family, Matthew found happiness in the simple joys of life. In his later years, he treasured the companionship of his special fur grandbaby Latte, listening and singing to musics, and viewing pictures of his past.
Matthew’s legacy is one of hard work, devotion to family, and kindness that touched all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, January 2nd at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, from 9:00am to 11:00am with his memorial service beginning at 11:00am. Inurnment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Philadelphia.
