Melissa N Schools' Obituary
Melissa N. Schools of Drexel Hill PA and formerly of Medford Lakes NJ, passed away on August 8, 2023, after fighting a 3-year battle with cancer. She was 34 years old. During this time Melissa was a Warrior, sustaining 17 extensive surgeries lasting 12-15 hours each. She received 2 rounds of Chemotherapy, 2 rounds of radiation, and Immunotherapy trials, yet she succumbed to her battle with her family by her side.
She was the cherished daughter of Robin DiGiovanni and Eugene Schools and loving stepdaughter of Rick DiGiovanni.
Melissa was wonderful, caring, and strong with an old soul. She loved cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family. Melissa had a way with words, amusing her family with her witty comments at the drop of a hat. She had an eye for fashion which she loved clothes and purses. Melissa loved Sqishmallow’s and tattoos of Lilly’s and Pop Evil. She loved her sister’s serenades of musical theatre songs and listening to different selections of music with her dad.
Although Melissa had fallen ill herself, she enjoyed taking care of others. She spent many years as an EMT in Collingdale, PA.
Melissa is proceeded in death by her three Siberian Huskies whom she loved and cared for so much.
She is survived by her grandparents Sondra and Louis Stazi, parents Robin DiGiovanni and Eugene Schools. Stepfather Rick DiGiovanni, sisters Amanda Schools and Rachel DiGiovanni, brother Mitch Schools. Nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored as her own Alexis, Cheyenne, Aiden, Ashton, and baby nephew who is yet to be born.
She will be missed by a host of family and friends. The services for Melissa will be private.
