Melva Robinson's Obituary
Melva Robinson (nee Irving) passed away peacefully Saturday, February 7, 2015, the Lord that gives eternal life decided she endured enough and called His angel "Melva" back into Himself. Melva Robinson was born in Richland, GA, on December 6, 1938 to the late David and Mamie Irving. She graduated from Buena Vista High School in Buena Vista, GA and continue her education at Lincoln Institute, Pennsauken, NJ. Melva was a resident of Willingboro since 1971. She was employed as a teacher's aide at Bookbinder Elementary School, Willingboro, NJ. And later, she was worked for the Navy Defense Industrial Supply Center in Philadelphia, PA until her retirement. Melva loved the Lord and attended Zion Baptist Church of Philadelphia, PA and served as a Deaconess there until her illness. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, gardening and landscaping at home. She was preceded in death by her sister Avis Miller and a brother Frank Irving. Melva leaves to cherished her memory to her devoted and loving husband of 54 years, Ralph, Sr., her children; Ralph L. Jr., Gwenevere (the late Elijah) Jamison, Malcolm and Valerie Karen (Calvin, Jr.) McCormick. Her grandchildren Phillip, Jr., Alexandra, Riley, Kayla, Brandon and Samiya, her great granddaughter Jada; a brother Lonnie (Alice) Irving, sisters, Mae (the late Earl) Sewell, Mildred (the late Louis) Hill, brother-in-law Gene Miller and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Melva's Life Celebration and viewing Sunday 4-6 p.m. at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North and Monday from 9-11 a.m. at the Zion Baptist Church, 3600 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140. Her Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be on Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
