Michael B. Arasim's Obituary
Michael B. Arasim passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25 with his family by his side. He was 74 years old. Loving father to Stephanie Portnoy and her husband Sean, Brian Arasim and his wife Jennifer, and Liz Kirchner and her husband Justin. Devoted grandfather to Maddie, Sam, Max, Gabe, Sadie, James and Brady. Dear brother to Helen Foss and her husband Michael Foss. Michael was predeceased by his brother Victor, sister Victoria, and his beloved pets Chandler and Ralphie.
Michael was a Vietnam veteran and a proud member of the 101st Airborne. He lost his leg in the war and for his bravery and sacrifice was awarded a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, a Vietnam Service Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, both Combat Infantry and Parachutist Badges and many other Army commendations. He will receive full military honors for his burial.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street, on Friday, November 1 from 11:00 am to share food and greet the family, followed by a service to honor Michael at 12:15pm. Burial will follow for the immediate family only at Brigadier Wm. C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey. Shiva will follow on Saturday evening beginning at 6 pm at the Portnoy home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
