Mike was a great guy, once you really got to know him.
I too was in the Navy, and we shared stories
Mike and I sat at the end of the bar after work " The Old Man's end" as the younger guys used to say.
Mike did a lot of work for me in my contracting business. He was very dependable especially when some of the younger guys couldn't get up to make work. He was great at what he did, no matter what the job was, he took it on and did it right.
I will really miss this big guy.
He is in God's hands right now.
Rest in peace my brother.
I too served on USS Peterson with Mike. Always called him Philly. I worked in the Ships Store and Mike was a regular. Always complaining and wanting a special deal. We laughed often and I would over state the price just so I could let him think he won the negotiation! We visited at the Virginia Beach reunion 2015. Still Philly!
May my Shipmate Rest in Paradise 🙏
Mike,
You're father was a very impressive man, and one thing I know for sure, is that he raised a VERY IMPRESSIVE, and STRONG son. I'm sorry that he's gone, and I'm sorry that you have to go through this!!! Love you buddy!!!!
I got the pleasure, oops if you want to call that it.
To get and meet Big Mike as we did call him, and when he got laid off from some work I put him to work, and he did a great job, simply because he knew what the hell what he was doing.
He was a great person "ONLY" when he got to know.
I loved him, because he was "NO" bullshit kind of person.
And Neither was I.
I will miss him everyday.
Love you Big Mike.
Your Friend forever,
Benny
I went to elementary school and high school with Mike. Unfortunately most of the memories from those days are lost with age. I do remember Mike bring a really good guy.
Recently, I got such a kick out of Mike continually getting tossed in Facebook jail, because he would not conform and spoke his mind, while shooting Facebook the bird.
This is Mike’s 1976 yearbook picture from Northeast Catholic High School.
I stood a few quarterdeck watches with Mike, on board as a new recruit and i was the MOOW, while he was the Petty Officer of the watch, on board the USS Peterson when I first came on board the Peterson, and we shared some good laughs. Last time I saw Mike, was at the 2015 Peterson reunion. Rest in Peace shipmate, Gods peace and love..My deepest sympathy to the Ingram family

Mike was one of the best on the Pete. In your life you have friends that you will never forget and that is what Mike was to me. There is no way you would ever forget him after spending time with him. RIP my sea daddy!!!
