Michael P. Lamaina Sr.'s Obituary
Michael P. Lamaina, Sr., of Delanco, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 27th, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born to the late Frank Sr. and Ruth (nee Mackin) Lamaina on September 24th, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Michael is the beloved brother of Janet Jaslow, Frank Lamaina, and Ruthie Sica. As a family, they spent quality time with one another and in the summer, the family spent their summer vacation going down the shore. Growing up, Michael attended Neshaminy High School. Michael was enlisted with the Armed Forces of the United States in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1975.Michael was blessed to find the love of his life, Anne (nee Wojtkowiak), who he lovingly referred to as “Annie”. They were married on February 2, 1973. Shortly after, Michael and Anne’s wish of a family was finally granted when they welcomed their three beautiful children into their lives, Kristine (Robert)Watson, Michael P. Lamaina Jr., and Jacki (David) Gerlock. He loved spending time with them at their family home in Riverton, NJ. As the years went on and his children grew up, creating families of their own, Michael was gifted the new title of Poppy to Sarah (Connor) Dougherty, Jenna Watson, Anna Diamond, Gia Lamaina, Leah Diamond, Maya Gerlock, Laura Gerlock, and great grandchildren Tyler Diamond and CJ Dougherty. As a couple they enjoyed traveling, Bermuda was their home away from home. When Michael was not spending time with his family, he could be found tending to his garden at his home or on his boat. Professionally, Michael was successful in his career in the hospitality industry. His journey began in 1976 with Lamaina’s Family Restaurant in Riverton, NJ. Michael began The Kove I Catering in Palmyra, NJ in 1979, going on to open The Kove II in Edgewater Park, NJ in 1983. In 1995 he branched out to Hainesport, NJ where he opened The Kove Catering and Pompeii Gardens Restaurant. His final business venture led him to Audubon, NJ where he opened The Kove Bar, Restaurant and Catering 2012-2024. Michael will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his charismatic, energetic personality, and his heart of gold.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Michael’s visitation on Monday, May 4th, 2026, from 10am –12pm at Givnish Funeral Homes, located at 1200 US Rt. 130, followed by a funeral service, beginning at 12pm. Also, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
