Michael "Moon" McMullen's Obituary
Michael “Moon” McMullen of Sicklerville, formally Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away on March 16th, 2026, at the age of 66.
Born to the late Hugh and Kathryn (nee Mayberry) McMullen on April 20th, 1959, in Philadelphia, PA. Growing up, Michael attended Cinnaminson High School as part of the graduating class of 1977. As a young boy, his family spent time down the shore in Cape May where they spent endless hours at the beach or out boating. Hugh taught Michael everything he needed to know about fishing and boating as Michael carried those skills into his adult life. Michael’s family was incredibly important to him, knowing that one day he would be able to share the love that his parents had with his own wife and children.
One night, Michael visited his favorite local bar when he met the love of his life, Karen (nee Crespy). Michael was drawn to her charismatic, bubbly personality, becoming inseparable. The pair bonded over their love of family, good music, and enjoying life together. Karen and Michael went on to marry in September of 1994 and spent a loving 31 years together until Michael’s passing. As a couple, Michael and Karen always knew they wanted to have a family together. Their dreams came true when they welcomed their beloved children into their lives, Sean (Madison) McMullen, and Maura McMullen. Michael loved being their father. He was able to pass down the traditions and family values that his father passed down to him. Michael loved watching his children’s sports games, always cheering them on from the sidelines, or instilling core character values that would stay with them throughout their lives. Michael’s world became brighter when he became the pop-pop of his beloved grandson, Liam.
When Michael was not spending time with his family, he could be found tending to his yard or enjoying the Philadelphia Eagles play Thursday Night Football with a Miller Lite with his friends. Michael’s love of family extended to those closest to him, he checked in with his friends via phone call or a quick check in via text, just to let you know that he was thinking about you. Known by his family as a “foodie”, Michael enjoyed eating cheesesteaks, pizza, tuna salad, and his beloved Tasty Cakes. Michael also enjoyed to grill out and loved to smoke ribs, poultry, and beef. In his professional life, Michael worked with his father at McMullen & Sons Distribution Center that he later converted to his distribution company, K & M Distributions, named after him & his wife.
Michael will be remembered fondly by those who knew & loved him for his charismatic, kind personality, and his heart of gold.
