Michael J. Rooney's Obituary
Michael J. Rooney, 52, a resident of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away suddenly on October 4, 2023.
He was born on November 18, 1970, to Donna Rooney (Cross) and the late Robert P. Rooney Sr. Michael was a beloved sibling to Colene Swartz (John) and Robert P. Rooney Jr. (Kelly). He cherished his role as an uncle, deeply caring for Justin Lewis, Karly Majzlik, Michaelane Barilla, Miranda Rooney, and Kylie Rooney, and took pride in being a great uncle to Mason, Harper, Hadley, Ivan, Beau, Krew, and Maisie. He leaves behind a multitude of family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
Michael was renowned for his sharp wit and unwavering friendship. He had a special talent for bringing laughter to anyone he met. A passionate hunter, he found solace in Benton, Pa, where he shared cherished hunting moments with his nephews. Affectionately known as "UMS" (Uncle Mike Special) by his nieces and nephews, he maintained close bonds with his siblings, calling them daily to share stories, crack jokes, and discuss everyday matters, often poking fun at their mother or expressing his disdain for chores like shopping and lawn care, tasks he preferred to delegate to others. His absence will be profoundly felt, especially as a caregiver to his mother.
A gathering to celebrate Michael's life will take place at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, on Wednesday, October 11th, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo in Cinnaminson.
