Michael J. Welch, (75) passed away on March 4, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, selfless love, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. A proud Vietnam Veteran, Michael served his country with honor and courage, carrying the values of loyalty and sacrifice with him throughout his life.
Mike was a man who always placed the needs of others before his own. Nowhere was this more evident than in his deep and devoted love for his wife, Debra Welch. He took great pride in caring for Debra, always ensuring her wants and needs were met, and their marriage stood as a testament to enduring love and partnership.
He was a devoted stepfather to his children, Jessica Goodman and her husband Ed Goodman and Lance Harrison and his wife Shara Harrison, offering steady guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their lives. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Shayla Harrison and Bryce Goodman, who brought immense pride and happiness to his heart.
Mike found peace and pleasure in life’s simple treasures. He loved tinkering in his shed/garage, always fixing, building, or improving something with patient hands and a thoughtful mind. He cherished time spent fishing. A loyal fan of the Washington Redskins, and passionately supported his team through every season. No matter the holiday, Mike was always ready with the perfect costume!
His home was filled with warmth, not only for his family but for the cats he adored over the years and the wildlife he faithfully fed. Gardening brought him satisfaction and pride, as he nurtured life in the soil just as he nurtured those around him.
Michael will be remembered as a man of kindness and steadfast devotion, someone who gave more than he ever asked for in return. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
