Nelson E. Dimpter, Jr. 's Obituary
Nelson E. Dimpter, Jr. passed away peacefully on November 15, 2018. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. Son of the late Nelson E. Dimpter, Sr. and Ethel Dimpter. Nelson was 81 years old. He was a resident of Southampton, NJ and formerly of Moorestown, NJ. Nelson grew up in Upper Darby, PA where he attended Upper Darby High School. He received his Accounting certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret Ann Dimpter. Loving father of Sandra (Pete) Pernice, Patricia (Mike) Milich, Nelson G. (Lisa) Dimpter and Dawn (Rob) Mears. Loving Pop-pop to Jessica Pernice, Danielle Pernice, Joey Pernice, Nina Pernice, Nicole Pernice, Nelson Dimpter, Gavin Dimpter, Gage Mears and Kyle Mears.
Brother of Ethel Bigione. Nelson is predeceased by his brother George and Gerry Dimpter.
Nelson was employed for over 35 years as an accountant for RCA/Martin Marietta in Camden and in Moorestown.
Nelson enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren’s activities and playing cards. His hobbies included reading, coin and stamp collecting and visiting local car shows as well as purchasing antique cars for pleasure drives and parades. In his younger years, he coached his own children in various sports and more recently his grandchildren. Nelson’s favorite getaways were the Pocono Mountains and the Jersey shore where he owned houses at various times for the family to gather. He was also a fan of college football, especially Penn State’s Nittany Lions. Nelson’s family will always remember his immense love, generosity and helpfulness.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, November 24th, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. His memorial service will follow at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name to a charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.
