Nora J Curtis' Obituary
Nora Jean Curtis (nee Dalessio), 74, from Maple Shade, NJ, formerly of Southampton, NJ, passed away on April 13, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 22, 1949 to the late Dorothy Mumma. Loving mother to Denise Zera (Thomas), and Renee Bruce (Raymond) Grandmother to Ashton Gamelli (Brandon), Anthony Steglik Jr. (Stephanie), Stephen Steglik (Brittany), and Alyssa Magin (Ryan). Great Grandmother to Gianna, Michael, Vincent, George, Francesca, Sophia, and Salvatore. Sister to Joseph Dalessio and the late Robert Dalessio. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nora was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA where she had a career as a secretary for the Philadelphia School District. Nora loved to sew, bake, and read- especially Stephen King. She loved all things Philadelphia from the Phillies to all the local Philly foods such as cheesesteaks, pretzels, scrapple and tasty cakes, although the coconut crème pie from Ponzios in Cherry Hill also held a special place in her heart. Nora loved to visit the casinos and travel. Nora’s favorite places to travel were Hawaii, Disney World and anywhere her family was going with her. Nora loved music and her friends and family would say she was an amazing dancer. Nora loved spending time with her family and playing spoons and other games. Above all, Nora will be remembered for the love she held for her family
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, April 19th at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main Street, from 8:30am to 10:30am. Her funeral mass will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Maple Shade at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nora’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, stjude.org
