Pasquale Giannini's Obituary
Pasquale Giannini, of Mt. Laurel passed away peacefully on August 10th, 2023 surrounded by his children. He was 83 years old. He was born in Philadelphia on March 9th,1940, to the late Pasquale and Mary Giannini. He was the husband of the late Carol J. Giannini (nee Budnicki) and brother to the late Sonny Giannini, John Giannini, and Carmella Barth. He was the beloved father to Pat Giannini (Donna), Danielle Curreri (Pete), and Nikki Bailey (Michael). Cherished grandfather to Alex, Amanda, Christina, Nicholas, Gianna, Patrick, and Michael.
Pat grew up in Port Richmond in a large Italian family. He enjoyed playing sports and going to dances. He served in the Army and later became a truck driver by trade, but he is probably known best for being a football coach. After moving his family to south Jersey, “Mr. G” became a staple on the football field coaching many years for the St. Peter Saints and then later at Camden Catholic High School. He can be remembered for wearing shorts in the dead of winter on the side of the field, with either a cigar, a toothpick, or both in his mouth. He was viewed as tough as nails, but the people who knew him best knew the kind, caring, tender-hearted coach, dad, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend that he hid behind his tough exterior. Family meant everything to him. He loved spending time in Strathmere by the beach and watching Phillies and Eagles games. Some of his best times were spent with family listening to oldies and Motown, cold beer in hand, reminiscing while trading playful banter. He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, August 17th, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Givnish Funeral Home in Maple Shade. Located at 600 E Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ, 08052. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
