Aunt Pat was the funniest person in the entire Rabe family. She was always quick with a quip, a funny comment, a punchline, a joke or a gag. She made everyone laugh, and she got great joy herself in doing that no matter where she was. Her wit, humour and good nature was infectious, and her fearlessness to say something funny, to say something everyone else thought but wouldn't dare say, was remarkable and something to behold. She loved to laugh herself, but really loved making others do so as well. One of my daughters, after seeing her again as an adult, said Pat was the kind of woman she wanted to be when she got older. Pat was an independent, colourful character and every family gathering, for many decades, was better for her presence, her irreverence and her big personality. I always looked forward to seeing her. She will be deeply missed. My condolences to Karen, Kristine and their families.
