We all have a legacy to leave the world when we pass and my dear sweet, kind and gentle Aunt Pat imprinted on the world a sense innocent joy and faith in her fellow man. She was an archive of memories and perhaps the most engaging storyteller I have met in my life time. Her unique ability to be present in every moment enabled her with exacting precision to regale us with a snapshot in time. She enthralled her audiences (sometimes captured) but nonetheless with every textural aspect of the event, She effortlessly transported us an active participant into a treasured time in her life event. While most of these memories included her beloved family, she often captured the interest of strangers wherever she went. My mother often teased Aunt Pat saying, "Sweetheart you would talk to a brass pole if it was shiny enough to see a reflection." She possessed this infectious smile and a warmhearted nature that allowed her to fearlessly interact with strangers who quickly were transformed into friends.
My Aunt Pat was this incredibly colorful, energetic, thoughtful, and tender loving individual who I was fortunate enough to know. I will certainly miss her twinkling smile and her giddy laughter that brought so much joy to my life. So in her memory take the time to cherish your family and open your heart to a new experience with a stranger because the sweetest part of life is being present in every moment.
