Patricia Richardson's Obituary
Patricia Richardson (née Traficante) passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on November 5, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph Traficante and Betty (née Salinardi).
Patty was the devoted wife of John Richardson for 59 years, with whom she shared a beautiful love story—dating for eight years before marriage so they could fully enjoy their time together. She was the proud and loving mother of Eric Richardson (Santiago) and Jay Richardson (Daniel).
She is also survived by her sister, Betty Joan Hartzell (the late Jerry), and was predeceased by her sister Theresa Martino (the late Mark). She was a cherished aunt to Adam Hartzell and the late Phillip Martino.
Patty was humble, brilliant, and a quiet force. She graduated first in her high school class of 600 and went on to attend Temple University earning her undergraduate and graduate degrees.
A strong advocate for her children and a rock of support to so many, Patty was a fantastic wife, a wonderful mother, and a woman who loved fiercely. She adored children and spent much of her life helping them grow and thrive. She was also a voracious reader, often reading multiple books at once and devouring everything under the sun.
Patty will be dearly missed by Ryan and Juliana, who lovingly called her Mom-Mom, and by all those whose lives she touched.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, July 11, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Cinnaminson, NJ. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ.
