Paul L. Gelly's Obituary
Paul L. Gelly, age 84, of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away on March 6, 2025. A longtime resident of Cinnaminson since 1971, Paul was formerly of Philadelphia. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late Robert and Pearl Gelly.
Paul proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy. In June of 1961, he met the love of his life, Martha Devlin, and it was love at first sight. They married in June of 1962 and built a beautiful life together.
Paul was a devoted father to Donna (Jim) Goodwin, Paula (Brian) Commisso, and Robert G. Gelly. He was a cherished Pop-Pop to Jimbo (Kambrianna) Goodwin, Anthony Commisso, Kelsey (Andrew) Widmeier, Tyler Gelly, and Owen Gelly. Great Pop-Pop to Aubri Commisso and A.J. Widmeier.
He is also survived by his sister Cynthia Stevens and his in-laws Joseph (Karen) Devlin, Michael (Marion) Devlin, Madeline (the late Warren) Jeans, and Dolores (Albert) Amiot.
He was predeceased by his beloved grandchildren: Vincent Commisso, Shannon Gelly, Rebecca Gelly, and Tyler Goodwin.
Paul dedicated his career to public transportation, beginning with Trailways in 1966. He later worked for Suburban Transit in Hightstown, NJ, served as a manager for Academy Bus Transportation in Westampton Township, NJ, and retired in 2019 as a regional supervisor for NJ Transit in Camden, NJ.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 14th, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. officiating Deacon David O’Connor. Military Honors will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Paul will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love, dedication, and the legacy he leaves behind.
