Paul K. Martin's Obituary
Paul Martin passed quietly on February 23 2023 at age 64 after a long battle with Frontotemporal Dementia FTD.
Paul had a unique soul. He was full of life, made people laugh and was a good mentor sharing his knowledge of construction, carpentry, pool care, sailing and many of his other interests. He would open his house to those who needed a place to stay, wear bright Hawaiian shirts to weddings and dance with people in wheelchairs.
He enjoyed and was dedicated to his work as Senior Construction Manager for Remington Vernick Engineers located in Haddonfield NJ. Most recognized for wearing work boots, jeans, button down shirt with a Tigger Tie for bid meetings and city council progress meetings. No suits for Paul, his uniqueness made him stand out to the people he worked with.
In the outdoors, Paul shined the most. Rock climbing and repelling, sailing, skiing, hiking, and driving our Jeep Wrangler through Wharton Forest back roads are just a few of his favorite activities. He would climb to the highest point of buildings and bridges he was working on, and stand on the edge with no fear.
Paul did not want a traditional funeral, so please join us for an outdoor Life Celebration Saturday April 29th, at 2205 Chestnut Ave, Hainesport NJ 08036. Please dress casual with bright or Hawaiian shirts, no black or formal wear. Our gathering will start at 11:00 with a memorial service at 11:30, after which we will have the reception at the same location. Please contact me [email protected] for more information.
Paul suffered over 7 years with FTD, the degeneration of his body and soul with this Dementia was horrible to watch. I am asking that you donate to AFTD (Association for Frontotemporal Dementia) in lieu of flowers, gifts or cards. Attached is the link to his AFTD Memorial Page where you can process your tax deductible donation. https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/4488742
