Penny L. Sinkleris' Obituary
Penny L. Sinkleris (January 2nd, 1950 – February 17th, 2024)
Penny L. Sinkleris (Eubank), age 74, passed away on February 17th, after a courageous battle with several health challenges, with Andy, her beloved husband of 55 years, by her side. She was born on January 2nd, 1950 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, but spent almost the entirety of her life in Riverside, New Jersey. She graduated Riverside High School in 1968, and treasured the strong relationship she maintained with “the girls,” a group of her classmates who continue to get together after all of these years. She also stayed involved in the Riverside school community serving on both the PTA and The Ram Booster Clubs while her children were enrolled in school. Penny was the oldest of seven children, and just after her graduation, she married Andy, the love of her life, and began a family of her own. She was the mother of four children and a grandmother of eight. As her children grew, Penny began to babysit for several families, many of whom worked for the Riverside School District. Because she did her job so well, the number of her daycare babies grew. Family and friends often joked that Penny’s job was “professional mom.” A parent’s most precious possession is their children, and so many people entrusted their babies to Penny. At times there were as many as ten little ones in her care. She gave them kindness and unconditional love, and never took long in figuring out just what made each and every one of them comfortable and happy. Their daycare mom created a home away from home, and she loved them as much as they loved her. Her own children often served as human jungle gyms on the living room floor at the end of the day when they arrived home from school. But Penny’s biggest joy in life was when she became a grandmom. “Grandmom,” “Grandma Gorgeous” and “Bom Bom” was never happier than when she got to spend time with her grandbabies. She had been training her whole life to play that role, and she brought joy and unconditional love to each of them whenever they were in her presence. As she faced health challenges over the past few years, it was always her grandchildren who lifted her spirits, and gave her the courage to face and overcame each challenge.
Penny is preceded in death by Helen “Betty” Miller (Widdis) (mother), and F. Gregory Sinkleris (son). She is survived by her husband Andrew Sinkleris, son Andrew, wife Peggy (Wallace) and their sons Ryan and Evan; son James, wife Lisa (O’Keefe) and their children, Emily, Gregory and Marissa; daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Hemmons, husband Jason and their children Lila and Pierce; daughter –in-law Jamie Bolton and daughter, Emma Rose; her dear stepfather George “Ken” Miller, brother Thomas Eubank and wife Susan (Buren), brother David Eubank and wife Angela (Giaimo), brother James Eubank and wife Karen (Ketchall), sister Cathy Turcich (Eubank) and husband Tom, brother Timothy and wife Mary (Kane), and brother Daniel, along with countless other loving family relatives and cherished friends.
