Peter Kripner's Obituary
PETER J. KRIPNER
Peter J. Kripner of Edgewater Park passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Marcella Center, Burlington Township. He was 89.
Pete was the youngest of 6 children born to George and Jennie Kripner of Chicago, Illinois. He graduated Crane Tech High School in Chicago. Following the outbreak of WWII, he enlisted in the US Army and served in New Guinea as part of the Pacific operations. Following the war, he enlisted in the US Navy and served in Annapolis, MD. Pete was employed for 33 years as an engineer for RCA. He worked at numerous military installations around the United States before retiring from the Moorestown, NJ facility. He and his son Michael were avid Phillies fans and season ticket holders.
He was preceded in death by his wife Velma F. Kripner; his parents George and Jennie Kripner; his four brothers Frederick, Jerome, Gerald and George Kripner; his sister Emily Kostka; and his son-in-law Elmer R. Higgs.
He is survived by his children Judy K. Elrod (Norman) of Silver Spring, MD; Nancy J. Kripner of Crofton, MD; and Michael J. Kripner of Edgewater Park; granddaughter Jennie Higgs of Crofton, MD; nieces and nephews; the Higgs and Elrod families; and his devoted neighbors.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Pete?s viewing at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North, Friday Eve 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m., followed by his Life Celebration at 1 p.m. Interment in Wadena Cemetery, Wadena, MN will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Burlington County Special Olympics 2102 Rabbit Run Road, Marlton, NJ 08053.
