Rachel Courtney Moorhouse's Obituary
With broken hearts, the family of Rachel Courtney Moorhouse announces her passing. Rachel passed away peacefully at her home in Voorhees, NJ, surrounded by family, on October 11, 2025, at the age of 48.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 6, 1977, Rachel was the beloved daughter of Raymond Carl Moorhouse (Beth) and Linda Weiner (James). She was the cherished sister of Lauren Anderson (Brian), Ashley Moorhouse (Blake Bullis), Christian Moorhouse, Larry Weiner (Matia), and Adam Weiner (Rene), and the adoring aunt of Dylan Anderson, Sophia Anderson, Parker Anderson, Juliana Bullis, Colette Bullis, Ethan Weiner, and Jack Weiner. Rachel is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who will miss her deeply.
Rachel graduated from Rutgers University. She went on to dedicate 23 years of her life working in a psychiatric ward, where she gave of herself daily with compassion, strength, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Her kind heart and gentle spirit touched countless lives throughout her career.
She had a passion for cooking and was known for sharing her love through meals made with care. Rachel was a proud and devoted aunt, always present for her nieces and nephews with boundless love, laughter, and encouragement. An avid reader and a true old soul, she found joy in the quiet moments and was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Rachel’s presence brought comfort, warmth, and light to those around her. Her memory will be treasured always.
Services for Rachel will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rachel may be made to the World Central Kitchen (founded by Chef José Andrés, whom Rachel admired for his talent) at www.wck.org, or to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
