Raymond Hankinson's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond “Ray” Hankinson who passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 60 surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on May 28, 1965, in Atlantic City, NJ, Ray was the son of Elaine “Yinger” Hankinson and the late Arthur Hankinson. Ray was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ray graduated from Holy Spirit High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Stockton University. A hardworking and dedicated Certified Public Accountant, Ray owned and operated his own business, Payroll Express. There, he built not only professional relationships but also lasting friendships with countless clients.
He had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar, biking, walking on the beach, boating, gardening, and living a healthy, organic lifestyle. He was an amazing listener and loved giving his heartfelt advice to those who needed it. A proud Margate native, Ray had a lifelong passion for Philadelphia sports — especially this year’s Super Bowl Champions, The Eagles.
Ray is survived by his loving and devoted children, Jake and Megan; his caring and faithful mother Elaine; his cherished brother and best friend, Matt; his nephew Nic, who had Ray’s unwavering love and support; his lifelong friend Tom; and his supportive ex-wife Laurie with whom he maintained a loving friendship.
A private celebration of life will be held in his honor.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Thyroid Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
