My name is Lorraine, and Betty and I were friends since 1937 when we were both 7 years old. We lived next door to each other in Medford Lakes, and attended camp, Saturday night dances with our parents, Sunday School at Cathedral of the Woods, Sunday ball games, and swimming races. Betty was a born athlete and was especially good at short distance runs. She won numerous medals for the 50 yard and 100 yard dashes. She loved to dance and was very fond of the jitterbug. During the 2nd World War we were plane spotters when we were about 13. We were also in one of Medford Lakes' Canoe Pageants. It was called 'A Worthy Cause', and it was about helping the refugees. Betty was honest and trustworthy, and she could be outspoken when she wanted her thoughts known. She was a good sport and a true friend. She loved her family with all of her heart and I will never forget her.
God Bless You,
Lorraine Hill
