Richard B. Archer's Obituary
Richard B. Archer, age 90, of Mt. Dora, Florida, passed away on June 28, 2026. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his devotion to family, sense of humor and ability to connect with anyone around him.
Richard was born in Chicago, Illinois. Over the years, he built a life defined by service and meaningful work, including time with the United States Air Force in the 1950s. He later worked as a funeral director for a few years in that same decade. In the 1960s, Richard served as a supervisor with East Texas Motor Freight, and later moved into medical equipment sales, where he advanced into sales leadership roles from the 1970s through the 1990s.
In his free time, Richard found joy in what he loved most: golf, flying, and the wonderful memories made through travel with his wife and family. Above all, he cherished time with the people he loved—sharing stories, offering guidance, and celebrating life together.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 68 years, Jeannine Archer, and their four sons and their families. His sons: Scott Archer (Maria), Glenn Archer, Chris Archer (Jena), Dale Archer (Jennifer). Grandchildren: Lisa Phillips (Alex); Michael Archer (Katie); Tracy Burleson (Patrick); Charlene Amador (Jesus); John Archer (engaged to Melissa Thomas); Kevin Archer, Alexandra Archer, Aidan Archer, and Jessica Archer.
