Richard Warren Marsdale's Obituary
Richard Warren Marsdale, 58, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 7, 2021 with family and friends by his side. He was the devoted husband to Debra (DiPietro) and dedicated father to Jason (Natalie), Samuel, and Camille. Loving son of Warren and Patricia (Cleary) Marsdale, and younger brother to Robert “Bob” Marsdale. He was also survived by sisters-in-law Hope DiPietro Yonge, Fran DiPietro Hurton (Kevin), and Karen DiPietro. Rich was beloved “Uncle Dick” to many nieces and nephews. He was greeted in Heaven by his father, Warren Marsdale, mother-in-law, Camille Dellisola DiPietro, and brothers-in-law, Patrick DiPietro and Gerald DiPietro.
Rich was born on March 5, 1963 in Jersey City, NJ. His family moved to Willingboro, NJ when he was 6 years old. Upon graduating from Willingboro High School in 1981, Rich began an iconic career in sales. Referred to by a past colleague and friend as the “King of Sales,” Rich took pride in carefully guiding many through important life purchases. His career began in car sales and eventually progressed into mortgage sales. In all of his occupations, Rich was admired for his charisma and known for lighting up the workplace with his humor. Rich met his “Princess Bride”, Debbie, while selling her a car at DeSimone Cadillac in 1992. They married in 1996 and enjoyed just over 25 years of “Marital Bliss” in Mount Laurel, NJ, where they raised their family. Rich finished his career prematurely, following his diagnosis of Leukemia in 2014 while at Wells Fargo. He continued to practice as a natural salesman while working with his beloved wife at Showcase Graphics.
Over the last 7 years, Rich spent his time as a servant to others. Even throughout his difficult battle with cancer, he constantly found ways to provide those around him with assistance and enjoyed making the lives of others easier in any way he could. Rich prioritized his relationships with all who entered his life and made each member of his circle feel important. He was known to many as a prankster and had an undying sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who knew him. In his free time, Rich enjoyed cooking, cleaning, entertaining, and spending time with his family and friends. On any given day, you could find him enjoying an extended breakfast or lunch at a local diner with his Fante brothers, wandering around Costco for hours on end, detailing his car at the car wash, resting in his recliner in the company of his dog, Diamond, or chatting with a stranger.
The family of Rich would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who positively impacted Rich’s life throughout his battle with cancer. The Marsdale Family would like to especially thank Dr. Douglas Beach and the Penn Medicine Hematology/Oncology Team for their extraordinary care of Rich throughout his entire journey. They would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Samaritan Center at Voorhees for their gentle care in Rich’s final days.
