Richard M. Moffa's Obituary
Richard, 86, of Maple Shade, was born and raised in South Philadelphia, and is the son of the late Michael and Anna (Farinella). He was a proud graduate of South East Catholic High School (Newman- Goretti) Class of 1952. After graduation Richard first started his career with the United States Postal Service before enlisting in the Air Force. After returning home, he continued a career of thirty-seven years with the Postal Service before retiring. He was a passionate sports fan of most college sports, Philadelphia sports teams and never missed an opportunity to visit a horse track. Being the brunt of a joke was never a problem because he loved to share his laughter with family, even at his cost. Richard and his wife, Florence, resided in Maple Shade for the past 50 years, and are parishioners of OLPH Church. His true love was spending time with his family. Richard was a devoted husband of 57 years to Florence “Cookie” (Ruggerio). He is the father of Michael (Valerie), Richard (Susan), Anthony (Nicole) and Frank (Stacy). He is the fun loving Pop-Pop of Gianna, Domenico, Nicholas, Bianca, Olivia, Salvatore, Santino, Anthony and Victoria.
Services Thursday, June 3rd 9-10:30 am at Givnish Funeral Home, 600 East Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ. Followed by Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM at OLPH, 236 East Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery Rt. 38 Cherry Hill, NJ.
