Richard Lloyd Wellington's Obituary
Richard Lloyd Wellington, “Dick,” passed away on Tuesday morning, January 28, 2020 at Medford Care Center later joined by his family. Born in Philadelphia to William and Florence Wellington, Dick was 89 years old. He was a resident of Cinnaminson for 58 years.
Dick honorably served his country as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. He was known as “Duke” while employed as a stillman and shift foreman for the Gulf Oil Corporation (later merged with Chevron) for over 33 years. Dick, along with his wife Nancy, were charter members of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cinnaminson. He was very competitive and enjoyed golfing, softball, bowling and playing cards. Dick, along with his wife Nancy, also loved traveling, going to the casinos and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Nancy Louise Wellington; his children Susan (David) Spiegel, Gayle Falvey, Richard (Susan) Wellington, Jr. and Deborah (Ronald) Ruilova; his 11 grandchildren Christina, Victoria, Laurel, Sara, Jennifer, Glenn, Maxwell, Holly, Amber, Rebecca and Jillian; 12 great grandchildren Lorelai, Michael, Brenner, Saige, Riley, Delaney, Olivia, Arabelle, Sebastian, Link, Ethan and Finn; and preceded in death by great grandchild Tianna.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2618 New Albany Road, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. His Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. ?In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
