Robert Berard's Obituary
Robert Berard, 84, longtime resident and business owner of Maple Shade, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 29, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on February 7, 1941, to Reginald and Florence Berard, Robert was the beloved husband of Judith Berard (née Armstrong) and cherished brother of Regina Berard. He will be deeply missed by his many cousins, friends, and his beloved cat, Cutie.
Robert proudly owned and operated his carpeting business on Main Street for over 55 years, becoming a true staple of the Maple Shade community. In his younger years, he served with honor in the National Guard.
Known for his straightforward personality and fun-loving nature, Robert enjoyed traveling with his wife, Judy—whether cruising to Florida and Bermuda or staying at the Grand Floridian in Disney World. He had a deep love for animals and often cared for multiple cats and dogs at a time. Above all, he was a devoted husband and a loyal friend to many.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, September 5th, at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main Street, from 9:30–10:30 AM. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Maple Shade, entombment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Animal Welfare Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
