Robert "Bob" Rogers' Obituary
Robert H. Rogers of Moorestown passed on October 11, 2014 of cardio-pulmonary arrest at the age of 76 years. Bob attended Moorestown Friends elementary school. He graduated Moorestown High School, Class of 1956, Pfeiffer College, NC, Class of 1963 with a Business Administration and Accounting Degree. Employed at Burlington County Trust Co. thru 6 mergers, now Wells Fargo, retiring in 1994 as VP. Married to Carmela (nee Panarello) for 48 years. Father of Carolyn (Travis) Johnson of Georgia, and Robert A. Rogers of Tokyo. Two grandchildren; Hunter Luke and Ashley Nicole. Brother of Ruth E. Rogers.
Bob was an avid golfer from the age of 9. He played on the golf team for Moorestown High School and Pfeiffer College. He was also a member EAGA (Eastern Amputee Golf Assoc.) winning the Junior National in 1956! He was a member of the Moorestown Field Club for 50 years, serving as President and Treasurer. He won the Club Championships in 1984 and 1988, the Senior Club Championships in 1992 and 1995. His lowest handicap was a "5" and his lowest score was "66". Before retiring his clubs at the age of 73, he carded 5 birdies, putting last in a scramble at Ft. Dix. He joined Riverton Country Club in 2004, winning a Senior Championship there. His aim was always for the gross prize, net was for amateurs! A golfing buddy dubbed him "The Mean Quaker!"
Bob was a member of the Maple Shade Rotary Club, serving as Past president (1985-86) and became a Paul Harris Fellow in 1986. He was on the board and treasurer for the Moorestown Community House. He was an avid hunter and member of the Ellisburg Gun Club, past treasurer of the UPHAM Downs Hunt Club, DE.
Relatives and friends are welcomed to gather from 6 – 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Inglesby/Givnish Funeral Home, 600 East Main Street, Maple Shade. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prosthetic Innovations 201 Saville Ave. Crum Lynne,
