Robert C. "Emil" Krauss Jr.'s Obituary
Robert C. “Emil” Krauss, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Born in Abington, PA to Dolores (nee Sturgis) and the late Robert C Krauss Sr . Robert was 69 years old. He was a resident of Marlton since 1988 and grew up in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. Beloved husband of 49 years to Karen (nee Sadowl), loving father to Stacy Bowen (Eddie) and Steven Krauss (Donna). Cherished grandfather to Brianna and Eddie Bowen. Loving son of Dolores McCloskey (William) , Brother of Debbie Krauss-Kelleher (late Dennis), and Lisa Ewan (Joseph). Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert attended Saint Helena's grade school. He was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School Class of ‘71. He attended apprentice school through the Newport News Shipfitting and Dry Dock Company and became a ship fitter by trade where he helped to build the USS Nimitz . He later was employed as a sales manager for Tri-County Amusement Inc. where he worked for 45 years and recently retired.
Robert played high school basketball and later coached his son and daughter in their early years of playing. He became an avid golfer and started playing at Melrose CC, then moved to NJ where he was a member at the Links Golf Club and was their club champion. He later became a member at Little Mill CC where he enjoyed many years of golfing.
Robert was a sports enthusiast especially with the Philly sports teams. He loved watching the Sixers, Eagles, and Phillies . He always attended his grandchildren's games and was their biggest fan. He loved spending time and traveling with his family. Upon retiring he enjoyed biking and taking his dog (Grace) daily on long walks to the park
A gathering of family and friends will be held this Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Givnish of Marlton 398 East Main Street.
Emil’s Funeral Mass will follow 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church.
