Robert M. Carvette's Obituary
Affectionately known as Bob, Big Hon, Dad, and Pop-Pop, Robert M. Carvette passed away peacefully in his Marlton home of 53 years on January 24, 2025. Born on August 28, 1937, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to the late Robert and Catherine (née Micklas) Carvette, Bob’s life was marked by devotion to family and love of community.
Bob was the beloved husband of the late Nancy E. Carvette (née Germano), his high school sweetheart and wife of 65 years. He was a loving father to Linda Koszyk (James) and Darlene Anderson (Tom), a cherished grandfather to Michael Koszyk (Neda), Mark Koszyk (Suzi), Catherine Smith (TJ), and Christopher Anderson, and a proud great-grandfather to Ben, Miles, Billie, and Lizzi. He was also a dear brother to the late Charles Carvette (Joan) and a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A civic-minded man, Bob was actively involved in his community, serving three years in the Army National Guard of Connecticut and holding leadership roles at the Norwalk Boat Club, the PTA, and the Cambridge Park Homeowners Association. He found joy in coaching his daughters’ softball teams, playing the piano, and hosting friends and family. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bob was an avid fan of the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers.
Bob earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and worked in business and manufacturing most of his career. In his free time, Bob, a skilled woodworker, enjoyed building and restoring furniture, even converting a utility van into a camper for him and Nancy to travel and share their love of camping with their grandkids and nephews. After retiring from Industrial Ingredients, Inc., Bob and Nancy enjoyed golfing, traveling and visiting friends and family all around the country. When not on the road, Bob was most likely to be found in his garage workshop building intricate replicas of homes, toys, and birdhouses that he generously shared with loved ones, neighbors, and admirers.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bob’s life on Saturday, February 1st, with a visitation from 9:00–10:30 a.m. at Givnish of Marlton, 398 East Main Street, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Parish, 100 Willow Bend Road, Marlton. Burial will be private.
In appreciation to the Evesham Township EMTs who always responded quickly and kindly to assist Bob, donations can be made to Evesham Professional Firefighters Foundation, PO Box 184, Marlton, NJ 08053.
