Robert C. Jacobs Jr.'s Obituary
Robert C. Jacobs Jr. passed suddenly on February 21,
2024 due to complications following surgery. Robert was
born in Philadelphia on August 11, 1942. He lived in
Philadelphia all his life. He served in the Air Force
for several years during the Korean War & saw many
sights. While stationed in Grand Forks Air
Force Base in North Dakota he met Evelyn Agnes Spicer,
his 1st wife. They had 2 children: Robert & Barbara. He
worked at Septa for a majority of his life as a bus
driver then as a street supervisor in transportation.
After he retired from Septa he then worked for New
Jersey Transit for a number of years in the
transportation control center where he monitored bus
traffic and light rail vehicle operations. From there
he went on to work at Cooper Hospital as a security
guard until he retired at the age of 72. Evelyn, his 1st
wife, succumbed to pancreatic cancer on April 6, 2005.
They were married for 44 years. He then remarried not
too long after to Anna Salcedas back in 2005. He
relocated to living in New Jersey and lived out his days
in Maple Shade. Robert loved Evelyn & their kids dearly.
He was a hard worker & a great provider. He enjoyed
taking the family on vacation to the shore or to North
Dakota to visit Evelyn's family. He loved sports whether
it was the Phillies, Eagles or Sixers. He played
basketball back in the day when he was in high school.
He also played softball on Septa's softball team. He
loved boxing. He always encouraged his children to play
sports and to be productive.
Robert was saved in 2005. He gave his life to Jesus
Christ and served Him throughout the years. He attended
Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia most of the time. He
loved Joe Focht; that was his favorite pastor along with
Jerry Paradise. He called Calvary home. He also served
and attended Rock Ministries down in Kensington under
Buddy Osbourne. Him & Anna would hand out food and
essentials to those in need whether they were homeless
or addicts.
He loved Anna and her children dearly. He provided
for her and was supportive of her family. He continued
to go to church and to love the Lord. He enjoyed being
retired and he enjoyed life. Often he would enjoy
watching sports in the basement with Rocky his pet dog.
They were the best of buds and Rocky was always by his
side.
