Robert Sabo's Obituary
Robert (“Bob”) Sabo, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, passed away on May 10th, 2026, at the age of 80.
He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Sabo; his mother, Viola (née Colna) Sabo Wade; his brother, Matthew Sabo; and his loyal canine companion, Spunky.
Bob was raised in a small, quiet farm town in South Jersey, where he developed the values and work ethic that guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Paulsboro High School with the Class of 1964. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Hawaii and developed a lifelong love for the islands. He went on to retire from Toshiba America Medical Systems where he worked as a Senior Field Service Engineer.
Bob is lovingly survived by his sons, Ethan, Philip (Rachel), and Tyler, and his cherished grandchildren, Lucas, Sophia, and Macy, with a fourth grandchild on the way—a growing family that brought him immense joy. Above all, Bob found his greatest happiness in being a father and grandfather. He treasured passing down knowledge and life lessons and deeply valued the time he spent with his family, always wishing for more of it.
When not spending time with his loved ones, Bob enjoyed the serenity of boating and tending to his home garden. He took great pride in cooking with his homegrown fruits and vegetables. He volunteered with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program of Burlington County, where his compassion help create a lasting impact on the lives of many children in need. He also enjoyed listening to rock and classic rock music and simply appreciating a warm summer day.
Bob will be deeply missed by his relatives and friends. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his humor, his charismatic personality, and the deep love he had for his family.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation beginning at 8:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Givnish Funeral Home of Marlton. Located at 398 E Main Street, Marlton, NJ, 08053. Interment will be private.
