Rocco R. Stefano's Obituary
Rocco R. Stefano passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024 with his family by his bedside. Born in Philadelphia, PA to James and Aida Stefano, Ronnie was 90 years old. Ronnie was a former resident of Cinnaminson, NJ. He is predeceased by his brother, James Stefano, and his sister, Joanne Werner (née Stefano).
Beloved husband of 67 years to the late Lucy Stefano (née Todaro). Loving father to Kenneth (Noreen) Stefano, Diane (Thomas) Dougherty, and James (Mary) Stefano. Cherished grandfather to Christine (Frank) Brown, Sabrina (DJ) Kastrup, Rocco (Katie) Stefano, Stephanie (Gary) Eastwick, Rachel Stefano, Katie Stefano, Nick Contarino, and Elizabeth Contarino; and great-grandfather to Olivia, Anthony, Tommy, Julian, Alexander, and Vivienne. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronnie led a life of deep Catholic faith, having served as an altar boy at his childhood parish, Annunciation B.V.M., in Philadelphia. He was a former parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Cinnaminson, where he attended daily Mass and Sunday Mass regularly, and he proudly served as an usher.
Ronnie proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Fulton as an electrician. He enjoyed golfing; reading; listening to Gloria Estefan; rooting for the Larry Bird-era Boston Celtics and the Green Bay Packers; reading the baseball box scores every morning; going to Dunkin’ Donuts; playing scratch-off lottery tickets; telling jokes; woodworking; and playing, coaching, and watching basketball. He loved spending time with his family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 42 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ. Ronnie’s Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Inurnment, with Military Honors, will take place immediately following at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
