Roger Allen Paton, Jr., affectionately known as “Al” to those who knew and loved him, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was 63 years old.
Al was the beloved husband of Barbara (Hartman) Paton for 33 years; loving father of Ricky Paton, Christy Yoder and her husband Derek, and Heather Baillie and her husband Philip; cherished grandfather of Morgan, the late Penelope, and two precious grandbabies on the way; beloved son of Betty Paton and the late Roger Paton Sr; dear brother of Beth Howell, Matt Paton, and Tricia Lee. Al is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him tremendously.
Al’s family will be holding a private burial this week. And a Celebration of Life service that is open to all will be held on January 15th at 6PM at Sovereign Grace Church (111 Greentree Rd., Marlton, NJ).
Thoughts on Allen from his wife, Barbara:
Allen was the best man I ever knew. He loved people and treated them all as a friend. He was a very positive person who made every story a little better than he had heard it :) He cared deeply for his children and loved spending time with them and their spouses. And he especially loved his little granddaughter, Morgan. He would thank God each night for how He had made her so smart. He also prayed for the grandbabies to be born this year; he couldn’t wait to meet them. He was a very appreciative person, and I was so extremely blessed to be his wife. Each meal had something that was “THE BEST!”, whether that was a hamburger or the most mundane food he’d had a hundred times before. And there are many more wonderful things I could say about him but I will save that for the Celebration of Life Service on the 15th!
In remembrance of Al and his heart for those in need, In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you care for someone in need, whichever way will serve them best, as Al often did.
