Ronald S. Milewski's Obituary
Ronald Milewski, 69, of North Wildwood, NJ, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on October 24th, 2024.
Born on November 5, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, he lived, worked, and raised his family there. He grew up in the neighborhood of Port Richmond and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia.
Ron spent more than two decades employed by the Philadelphia Police Department, where he moved through the ranks from officer to corporal to detective. His years as a detective were his most rewarding; he spent a large part of his career in this position until his retirement in 2009.
His retirement was spent traveling with his wife, Irene (Calendo), hanging out with his grandchildren at the Jersey shore, playing PlayStation, creating unbeatable fantasy football teams, and cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
A good storyteller, a prankster, a deep-down softie, Ron’s ubiquitous influence was felt by anyone who met him. In addition to his work ethic, strength, and sense of humor, he will forever be remembered for his enthusiasm for finding a good deal, giving everyone a nickname, calling things by the wrong name, enjoying frozen donuts, and loving unconditionally.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his daughters, Melissa Busch (Andrew), Amanda Milewski (Steve), Samantha Scurti (Vince), eight grandchildren, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ron’s family at Notre Dame De La Parish (St. Ann Church), 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ, on Saturday, November 2 at 10 a.m., which will be followed by a mass at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
