Ronald C. Miller's Obituary
Ronald Carl Miller, born December 7, 1937, of Riverton, NJ, completed his earthly journey on April 19, 2025. Ron was a cherished father, partner, brother, husband, son, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend and colleague. He was born in Dayton, OH, son of the late Marcella and Carl Miller.
Ron is survived by partner Judith Van Noy, daughters Corinne Miller (and late Stephen Emery), Susan (Glenn) Everdyke, sister Joanne Ford, former wife Julia Kiefer, grandchildren Will, Rhonda (Kristen) & great-granddaughter Grace, Julianna (Karine), nieces, nephews, cousins, and Judy’s family Ed (Maria), Karen (Fran), Michelle and their families, and finally his furry friends.
Ron graduated from University of Cincinnati in 1961, with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1963. He built a long and successful career designing, engineering, building and selling equipment used in the processing and manufacture of many different materials. His “official” career started at Ohio Scroll, followed by Purcell and Stebbins Engineering & Sales, and included numerous companies he built, ending with IPEC, manufacturer of the Rotormill. His work took him all over the world, led to many friendships, and enriched his life. He mentored and taught his team members and children, imparting his engineering expertise, but more importantly, the value of working hard to solve problems and finish a job. Ron was an entrepreneur from a very early age, making things in his wood shop, selling them, working at the local grocery store, selling Cutco knives, to put himself through school.
Ron was a world traveler, enjoying exotic adventures around the globe, with a special love for Brazil and South America. He was an avid small airplane pilot, flying all over the US for business and pleasure, and a proud member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He embraced learning, doing new things, and seeking all kinds of adventures. He did not shy away from any kind of challenge. He was a skilled car mechanic, woodworker, boat captain, skier, fisherman, artist, table tennis ace, cowboy steak griller, oyster lover, food lover, cat daddy, gardener, fixer, doer and inquisitor extraordinaire.
